Job summary

Royal Electric Company is seeking a Field RTS Technician in the Dallas area to perform precise field layout of point files using Trimble Robotic Total Station and to interpret plans to locate electrical systems.

You will coordinate with project teams, maintain RTS equipment, record as-built data, and support layout accuracy on multiple sites while adhering to safety and PPE standards.

Qualifications

• High School/GED or equivalent required.
• 3-5 years of construction industry experience.
• Experience in electrical construction is a plus.
• Experience with Trimble RTS or similar equipment.
• Experience using Trimble Field Link or similar layout software.
• Working knowledge of field layout techniques.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or Layout Point Software.
• May have a mix of field, CAD, or BIM experience.

Responsibilities

• Field layout of point files using Trimble Robotic Total Station (RTS).
• Interpret plans/drawings and specifications to determine precise locations for electrical systems.
• Alignment with Project Team(s) to ensure control points are established prior to layout date.
• Prioritize and establish dates needed on site with Project Team(s).
• Review plans and point files prior to date of layout.
• Work with Field teams to spot-check reliability of RTS point layout.
• Act as liaison between VC Team and Project Team(s) regarding RTS layout activities.
• Act as subject matter expert providing support and guidance on layout and measurement issues.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• 3-5 years experience working in construction industry
• Experience in electrical construction a plus
• Experience using Trimble RTS or similar/relates software/equipment
• Experience using Trimble Field Link or similar layout software
• Working knowledge of field layout techniques
• Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or Layout Point Software
• May be any combination of field, CAD, or BIM experience

Required Skills & Abilities

• Ability to be on-site at various project locations throughout the DFW area
• High attention to detail
• Able to work semi-independently and keep RTS equipment operating effectively
• Ability to meet all safety requirements of project sites; proper PPE, etc. P
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver equipment safely and as required
• Must have good verbal and written communication skills
• Safety & Physical Requirements
• Must wear proper PPE while on jobsites
• Must comply with all safety standards and procedures
• Sit, stand, and walk during the duration of the workday
• Will lift, carry, push, pull, kneel, crouch, and reach

Hourly Rate & Perks

• $32-40 per hour
