Job summary

The State of Indiana is seeking an Inspector for the Indiana Department of Labor (IDOL) to perform IOSHA inspections across sites in Indiana. The role requires frequent travel to inspect, audit, and gather safety data, reporting findings to regulators and stakeholders.

A bachelor’s degree is not required; however, 8+ years in construction or industrial environments is preferred. The role includes handling hazardous conditions and documenting technical reports.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in a construction or industrial environment.
• Willingness to travel with reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to work in unpleasant and hazardous conditions during inspections/investigations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assigned inspections, including formal/non-formal complaints and referrals.
• Inspect sites to evaluate safety and health conditions per IOSHA regulations.
• Hold opening conferences with owners/management to explain inspection process.
