Job summary

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in physics or physical chemistry with experience in advanced statistical methods.
• Familiarity with machine learning techniques for problems with limited training data.
• Programming in Python and R.
• Familiarity with nuclear physics and gamma spectroscopy.
• Knowledge of Bayesian and frequentist statistics.
• Eligibility: U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply new ML and statistical methods for processing experimental data.
• Maintain and document existing statistical analysis methods.
• Collaborate with software engineers to deploy algorithms to prototype-ready systems.
• Assist in long-term planning of project direction.
• Support in-field integration, testing, and operational support of new algorithms.
• Conduct testing and evaluation of new algorithms using theory and experiments.
• Travel up to 15% (domestic and international) for deployment and data collection.
