Job summary

Unlimited Technology seeks a Field Installation Supervisor to lead a team installing access control and video systems. You will guide technicians, review work, and coordinate with sales and operations. The role requires strong communication, safety compliance, and travel up to 50% domestically.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in security field installation, certifications in top vendors, and proficiency with drawings, MS Office, and BlueBeam. This position reports to the Project Manager.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of field installation experience in the security environment.
  • Certifications in Software House, AMAG, Genetec, and Lenel are high priority.
  • Certifications in IP cameras and systems (Axis, Sony, Hanwha, Avigilon, Verkada, ADI, Milestone, Exacq) are high priority.
  • Cisco or other networking training for establishing open/closed LANs is a plus.
  • MS Server and deployment of Dell servers are a plus.
  • Experience reading engineered drawings and redlining drawings post install.
  • Proficient with MS Word, MS Project, MS Excel; BlueBeam is a high priority.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety programs are followed on site.
  • Communicate activity to Project/Program Manager in a timely manner.
  • Travel as needed, sometimes on short notice: up to 50% within the US.
  • Review work and mentor technicians under supervision.
  • Attend product or safety trainings as required.
  • Complete performance reviews of team members.
  • Assist Program and Project Managers with supervisory duties.

The Field Installation Supervisor is responsible for managing their team members and subcontractors who are assigned to install, program, terminate, and commission a wide range of access control and video products and systems. The Field Installation Supervisor will also have the same duties as those who report to him/her but will guide and assist the technicians under their supervision and be responsible for reviewing the work as required for each of their reports. As a customer-facing employee, the Field Installation Supervisor must be a personable, knowledgeable self-starter who can make sound decisions that are in the best interest of the customer and Unlimited Technology. The Field Installation Supervisor must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to work closely with the sales and operations departments. This position will report directly to the Project Manager to whom they are assigned.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure all UT and site-specific safety programs are followed.
  • Supervise and manage the direct reports assigned
  • Always maintain a professional attitude and appearance.
  • Ability to work independently, with very little supervision.
  • Demonstrates the ability to supervise and mentor others.
  • Must possess programming skills associated with the UT product line.
  • Must be willing to travel as needed, sometimes on short notice.
  • Must be able to identify and resolve issues that would have a negative impact on job productivity.
  • Be the projects “eyes and ears” for the management team.
  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment always.
  • Communicate all activity to the job Project Manager or Program Manager in a timely manner.
  • Must be willing to assist the Install team.
  • Attend any product or safety training that is required.
  • Complete performance reviews of the team members.
  • Assist Program and Project Managers with weekly and monthly team supervisory duties. IE: Approval of timesheets, expenses, credit card reconciliation and PTO requests.
  • Identify and asses’ strengths, abilities, and weakness of the team.
  • Ability to maintain accurate inventory and protection of materials onsite or storage/warehouse facility.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Mastery of all Level III Install Technician responsibilities.
  • Minimum 5 years of field installation experience in the security environment.
  • Certifications in Software House, AMAG, Genetec, and Lenel are high priority.
  • Certifications in IP cameras and systems, such as Axis, Sony, Hanwha, Avigilon, Verkada, America Dynamics, Milestone and Exacq are high priority.
  • Certifications in Cisco or other networking training for establishing open/closed LANs is a plus.
  • Certifications in MS Server and deployment of Dell servers is a plus.
  • Experienced in the installation of door hardware such as strikes and magnetic locks.
  • Experienced in reading and comprehending engineered drawings.
  • Experienced in the marking up, or “red lining” of drawings post install.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer, with MS Word, MS Project, and MS Excel skill sets.
  • Proficient using BlueBeam software is ahigh priority
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to work well and interact with other UT employees as well as UT customers.
  • Strong work ethic and teamwork; “can do” attitude and desire to provide best service. Strong interpersonal and communicative Skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure with minimal supervision; must be a self-starter and quick learner.
  • Strong problem-solving skills
