Job summary

The Township of Franklin is seeking a field inspector under the Assessor’s Office to perform measurement and inspection of buildings and collect appraisal data. This role requires meeting with property owners, describing assessment processes, and supporting annual reassessments.

Responsibilities include measuring structures, verifying farmland qualifications, and conducting residential inspections in varying weather. Evening and weekend work may be required to complete assignments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from a four-year college or university degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet with property owners to arrange measurement and inspection of buildings.
• Inspect farming operations to determine Farmland Assessment qualifications.
• Re-measure homes at resale and conduct annual reassessments.
• Work evenings and Saturdays as required.
• Perform data entry and related duties as assigned.
