Job summary

EquipmentShare in Fort Smith, AR is seeking a Heavy Equipment Field Technician (Mechanic) to maintain and repair a diverse fleet of equipment and aerial lifts. You will diagnose issues, order parts, and work with real‑time data to optimize machine uptime.

The role offers a Monday–Friday schedule with overtime after 40 hours and on‑call compensation. You’ll work with multiple makes/models, use laptops/tablets, and may travel to customer sites for repairs.

Qualifications

• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintenance of heavy equipment and aerial lifts with independent judgment.
• Use laptops/tablets to create, assign, and monitor work orders and track service intervals.
• Order parts, diagnose issues from data across models, and determine root causes.
• Maintain paperwork and electronic documentation of work orders daily.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance when required.
