Job summary

Tolunay-Wong Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Field and Laboratory Geotechnical Technician for our Houston, TX office. This hands-on role supports geotechnical field and lab services with training provided.

You will prepare boring records, assist the team, complete daily reports, and participate in safety programs. The company offers health, vision, dental and disability insurance, a 401(k) with matching, PTO and paid holidays.

Qualifications

• English verbal and written communication required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willing to travel and possess a reliable vehicle (pickup).
• Able to pass hair follicle drug test.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License with clean driving record.
• Able to work in various weather conditions.
• Team player and self-motivated.

Responsibilities

Job description

Tolunay-Wong Engineers(TWE) is seeking applicants for a Field and Laboratory Geotechnical Technician position in our Houston,Texas office. The position supports geotechnical services.Please note this is a labor-intensive job. We provide all necessary training.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare clear and legible boring recordsincluding stratifying and classifying soils
• Assist work team with various field and laboratory activities
• Complete required daily reports, and vehicle and equipment inspections
• Attend all safety meetings and comply with company and client safety standards and programs
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including equipment and job site areas
• Support and adhere to company quality policies and procedures

REQUIREMENTS

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in English
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Willing to travel and possess a dependable pick-up truck or equivalent
• Able to pass an initial, random, and annual hair follicle drug test
• Hold a valid Texas Driver’s License and maintain a clean driving record
• Able to physically implement work duties assigned in various weather elements
• Willing to work diligently and take ownership over work
• Work well in team environment
