Job summary

Terracon is hiring a near-surface Field Geophysicist for our Fort Lauderdale, Florida office. The role focuses on field collecting non-invasive geophysical surveys to support geotechnical, environmental, engineering, and materials testing investigations, including utility location.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geophysics is required.
0–3 years of experience preferred.
Willing to travel across Florida and surrounding states.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Good writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Conduct non-invasive geophysical surveys in the field to support subsurface investigations.
Perform data quality control and basic analysis of geophysical surveys.
Interpret results to inform planning, design, and construction of infrastructure projects.
Assist in defining survey objectives and designing survey approaches.
Collaborate with mid and senior geophysicists on project tasks and meetings.
Possibly supervise field technicians and travel to project sites as needed.
