Terracon in Ashburn, VA seeks a Geophysicist to perform a comprehensive range of geophysical surveys in support of subsurface investigations for geologic, groundwater, environmental, and engineering projects. You will design survey approaches, analyze data, and interpret results to inform planning, design and construction of infrastructure.
Field visits and data collection are part of the role. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Geology or Geophysics, or 8 years of utility locating
Perform a comprehensive range of geophysical technologies in support of geologic, groundwater, environmental, engineering, and materials testing subsurface investigations. Perform non-invasive geophysical surveys from the ground surface to aid in locating underground utilities. Define survey objectives, design survey approaches, analyze the resulting geophysical data, and provide interpretation of results. Results are incorporated into the planning, design and construction of vital infrastructure such as roads, tunnels, airports, landfills, water supplies, and other facilities; the assessment of environmental conditions; and the evaluation of earth resources. Geophysics supports all of Terracon’s service lines.
