Job summary

gpac is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Field Foreman to lead field erection operations for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects. You will supervise crews, coordinate crane operations, and liaise with project managers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other trades.

This hands-on leadership role requires a strong background in steel erection, sequencing, and safety, and involves traveling to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with structural steel erection.
  • Experience with miscellaneous metals installation.
  • Previous experience as Field Foreman, Lead Erector, Superintendent, or similar leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of steel erection processes and sequencing.
  • Experience coordinating with general contractors, subcontractors, and other trades.
  • Knowledge of crane operations, rigging, lifting procedures, and jobsite logistics.
  • Ability to read and interpret structural steel and miscellaneous metals drawings.
  • Strong understanding of jobsite safety requirements and OSHA standards.
  • Ability to lead crews, communicate effectively, and make decisions in a fast-paced field environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate structural steel and miscellaneous metals erection in the field.
  • Lead and direct field crews to ensure work is completed safely and according to project specs.
  • Coordinate daily activities with project managers, general contractors, subcontractors, and other trades.
  • Plan and coordinate crane operations, including lifts, sequencing, rigging, and material placement.
  • Read and interpret structural steel drawings, erection plans, and project specifications.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and ensure steel and miscellaneous metals are available when needed.
  • Monitor project progress and communicate field conditions, schedule updates, and potential issues to project management.
  • Identify and resolve field conflicts and constructability issues.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with safety requirements, project specs, and quality standards.
  • Conduct daily jobsite coordination and provide direction to field personnel.
  • Assist with layout, measurements, rigging, and hands-on erection activities as needed.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and other trades to minimize delays and maintain project schedules.
  • Maintain a strong focus on jobsite safety, productivity, and quality.

Structural Steel Field Foreman

We are seeking an experienced Structural Steel Field Foreman to lead field erection operations for structural steel and miscellaneous metals projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in steel erection, field coordination, subcontractor management, and crane operations, with the ability to effectively lead crews and keep projects moving safely and efficiently.

This is a hands‑on leadership position for someone who understands the challenges of steel erection in the field and can coordinate between crews, subcontractors, project management, and other trades.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication and erection processes.
  • Ability to identify and resolve field issues before they impact the project schedule.
