Job summary

Richard E. Pierson Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a construction crew leader to oversee concrete, earthwork, utilities, paving, or roadway projects. You will be responsible for directing a team of 4-10 workers, enforcing safety standards, and tracking daily production metrics.

The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in heavy-civil or marine construction, strong knowledge in relevant disciplines, and possess certification in OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in heavy-civil, highway, or marine construction.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading a construction crew.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

Job description

Lead a field crew on a specific scope of work — concrete, earthwork, utilities, paving, or roadway — under the superintendent. You're the most senior set of hands on your crew and the first line of accountability for safety, quality, and production on your work.

Responsibilities
  • Direct the daily work of a 4-10 person crew on an assigned scope.
  • Enforce safety standards on your crew; lead the morning JHA and pre-task planning.
  • Coordinate equipment, material, and labor needs with the superintendent.
  • Stake out work, set grades, and ensure work is built to plan.
  • Track production, hours, and material usage on daily reports.
  • Train and develop laborers and operators on your crew.
  • Identify and elevate scope, schedule, or safety issues early.
Requirements
  • 5+ years in heavy-civil, highway, or marine construction with at least 2 years leading a crew.
  • Strong knowledge of one or more disciplines: concrete, earthwork, utilities, asphalt, structures.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Able to read prints, run a level, and operate hand-held survey gear.
