Job summary

Circle K is seeking a training specialist to enhance and deliver store training across specified regions. You will collaborate with field managers and curriculum designers to update materials, administer assessments, and monitor program effectiveness.

You will also conduct needs assessments, schedule training sessions, and maintain records. The role includes educating staff on training techniques and undertaking special projects as needed.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with field management, curriculum designers, HR, and subject matter experts to ensure training materials are effective, current, and aligned with policy.
• Works with curriculum designers on creation and modification of programs as organizational needs change.
• Administers testing and certification tools to measure curriculum effectiveness and learner performance, and records training activities.
• Uses reports to conduct store training needs assessments, schedules and conducts training, and reports outcomes with recommendations for improvements.
• Educates Store Operations Personnel on effective training techniques, delivering instruction via CBT, role play, simulations, and other formats.
• Provides topic-specific training programs to improve employee job skills.
• Keeps up with developments by reading and attending meetings; informs management of training status.
• Maintains accurate training records for geographic area, including statistics by position.
• Performs special projects or other duties as assigned.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

LOCATION AREAS ARE NORTH CHARLESTON, SUMTER AND FLORENCE

• Collaborates with field management, curriculum designers, members of the Human Resources team and subject matter experts to ensure store training materials are effective, current, relevant and compatible with Company policies and standards.
• Works with curriculum designers on the creation and modification of new programs as organizational needs change.
• Administers testing and certification tools to measure and assess effectiveness of the curriculum, learner performance, and training tactics; monitors, evaluates and records training activities and program effectiveness; makes recommendations to designers for adjustments.
• Utilizes a variety of reports to conduct store training needs assessments within their geographic area, schedules and conducts store training, evaluates results and reports back to Manager and Director regarding outcome and makes recommendations for improvements; develops alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen.
• Educates Store Operations Personnel on effective training techniques, ( i.e., the “how to” of employee training) by implementing and delivering instructional programs, curriculum, training procedures and aids, computer-based training (CBT) and materials using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos and lectures .
• Provides topic specific training programs to aid store and field employees aimed at maintaining and improving their individual job skills.
• Keeps up with developments in area of expertise by reading current journals, books and magazine articles; attends meetings and seminars to obtain information for use in training programs, or to inform management of training program status.
• Maintains accurate records related to the training that has been provided and completed within the assigned geographic area to include statistical data on completed curriculum by individual position.
• Performs special projects or other duties as assigned
