Job summary

USDA-FSIS seeks qualified Consumer Safety Inspectors to ensure the safety of meat, poultry and eggs. Roles may be detailed to any shift at any plant within the district, with significant travel up to 75% of the time. A $5,000 sign-on bonus and PSLF eligibility are among incentives for new hires.

Candidates must meet specialized experience/education requirements and will work to uphold federal food safety standards in varied plant environments.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience in properties and characteristics of regulated food commodities or other products for human consumption.
• Experience as consumer safety inspector, food inspector, or related roles is required.
• Experience documenting results and communicating findings to others is expected.
