Job summary
Summer Consultants in McLean, VA is seeking a recent graduate or early-career Mechanical Designer with up to three years of experience to join our team. You will gain hands-on field experience supporting renovation projects of federal, institutional, and historic facilities, focusing on HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Architectural Engineering (HVAC focus) or Mechanical Engineering.
- Interest in HVAC, building systems, and field learning.
- Willingness to spend meaningful time in field surveys and gain practical design experience.
Responsibilities
- Support mechanical and plumbing design for renovation and existing-building projects.
- Participate in field surveys to observe, investigate, document, and understand existing building conditions and systems.
- Assist with HVAC and plumbing calculations, equipment selection, ductwork and piping layouts, and system design.
- Help turn survey findings into practical design solutions for project documentation.
