Job summary

Hardy Industries is seeking skilled Fiber Testing and Splicing Technicians to support our growing national client base. This role involves certifying fiber links with OTDR, troubleshooting impairments, and performing fusion splicing when qualified.

You will work in diverse environments and maintain professional interactions with clients and stakeholders while documenting results and splicing records. This is a 1099 contractor on-site role with travel within the coverage area.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Fiber, IT, or Telecom experience.
• Must have valid driver's license and reliable vehicle.
• Own a standard set of fiber optic and telecom tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of fiber optic and technical tasks including but not limited to:
• OTDR testing, power meter testing, light source testing, and fiber certification.
• Fiber continuity testing and fault-distance identification.
• Connector inspection, cleaning, and remediation.
• Patch-cord troubleshooting and fiber jumper replacement.
• Installation, termination, and testing of single-mode and multi-mode fiber optic cabling.
• Identification and troubleshooting of customer-premise and network-side impairments.
• Documentation of test results, splicing records, and project deliverables.
• Work independently across various environments including retail, medical, restaurant, corporate, telecommunications, and data center facilities.
• Maintain a high standard of professionalism with clients and project stakeholders.
• Be available to accept service requests within your coverage territory depending on your availability, NOT FULL TIME
