Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Fiber Engineer to support fiber optic network deployment projects in the United States. This role involves hands-on fieldwork, fiber testing, and quality assurance, with frequent travel expected within Texas and other regions.

The ideal candidate will have basic knowledge of fiber optics, strong problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn. Responsibilities include performing fiber optic testing and validating network performance against standards.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of fiber optics or cabling systems.
• Interest in fiber testing, particularly OTDR (hands-on experience preferred but not essential).
• Willingness to travel extensively on a weekly basis.

Responsibilities

• Travel weekly to assigned project sites within a regional territory.
• Perform fiber optic testing on newly installed and existing networks.
• Conduct OTDR testing and trace analysis to identify faults.

Skills

Basic knowledge of fiber optics

Understanding of fiber routes and network performance
