Job summary

Heartland Coca-Cola Bottling Company is seeking an Equipment Service Technician in Tuscola, IL to perform mechanical services on all cold drink equipment and to troubleshoot and repair in the field. The role includes preventative maintenance and keeping accurate service records.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, at least one year of experience, and may hold Refrigeration/HVAC certification; forklift experience and PIT certification are valued.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of one year of work experience required.
• Refrigeration/HVAC trade or vocational certification preferred.
• Demonstrated mechanical, technical, and electrical aptitude.
• Ability to use a voltage meter preferred.
• Basic computer application and technology skills.
• Prior experience using a forklift preferred. Ability to obtain PIT certification upon hire is required.
• Valid Driver's License, current vehicle liability insurance, driving record within policy guidelines including no major violations within the last three years.
• Class-E Driver’s license required for Missouri drivers and locations only.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and repairs equipment in the field to keep in proper operating condition. Maintains positive customer relationships with effective communication.
• Maintains and completes required work tickets in the hand-held equipment.
• Ensures vehicle has accurate and appropriate levels of parts inventory by practicing Kaizen initiatives; this includes ordering new supplies, performing bi-annual inventory audits, and keeping vehicle clean and organized.
• Builds successful cross-functional relationships with Planning, Sales, and Customers by creating open lines of communication for all parties and coordinating activities effectively.
• Complies with safety standards: maintains safe work area, complies with safety standards, completes daily stretches and assigned safety training, and utilizes all PPE (personal protective equipment).
