Job summary

Apex Companies is seeking a Field Environmental Scientist Intern to gain hands-on experience on real-world environmental and industrial hygiene projects in the Washington, DC area. You’ll collect field samples, assist with investigations, and contribute to technical reports while learning from experienced professionals. The internship is on-site at a client location in Washington, DC with early start times (Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 a.m.

to 2:00 p.m. ET).

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Chemistry or a related field of study.
• Basic environmental science knowledge required.
• Strong technical writing skills required.
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple tasks.
• Awareness of safety standards and practices.
• Good record keeping and documentation skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Work in the field supporting environmental and Industrial Hygiene projects.
• Could be involved with stormwater sampling, mold sampling, wastewater sampling, and other project work.
• Write technical reports.
• Take direction from supervisor to perform various field duties.
• Actively develop your own career growth.
