Job summary

ERM is hiring Environmental Inspectors to conduct inspections at construction sites in South Bay, California. This part-time (20+ hours/week), limited-term role lasts 12 months with a potential renewal.

Responsibilities include field inspections, coordinating with agency staff and clients, ensuring environmental compliance, collecting samples, and documenting findings. Requires 2+ years of construction inspection experience; environmental degree preferred, with SWPPP knowledge.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of construction inspection or monitoring experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in an environmental discipline preferred.
• Knowledge of SWPPP BMP installation and maintenance, water resource protection, and waste management.
• Proficient in communicating clearly with ERM and client staff.
• Ability to drive to project locations and work in field environments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field inspections, monitoring, and field survey work as directed.
• Serve as point of contact with agency officials, landowners, contractors, clients, and project members.
• Review project documents and provide support on environmental compliance issues.
• Assess environmental conditions in the field to evaluate potential impacts from construction.
• Oversee mitigation measure implementations and ensure proper execution.
• Collect environmental samples (water, soil) and inspect sample quality.
• Inspect and verify flagging of wetlands and environmental exclusion zones.
• Document compliance with environmental requirements through daily inspection reports.
