Job summary

Roche is seeking a Field Engineering Specialist to travel and perform on-site repair, installation, and preventative maintenance for Roche product lines. You will be the primary technical contact for laboratories in your territory, diagnosing issues and ensuring customer satisfaction.

The role requires up to 20% travel, flexibility to cover overnight trips, and a background in electronics, electro-mechanical systems, or IT. A technical education and RD Services training are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or work experience required.
  • 5 years of progressive experience in repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking.
  • Training or certification as defined by RD Services Leadership is mandatory.
  • Ability to travel, including overnight travel.

  • Provide on-site service, repair, and installation for Roche products.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures.
  • Serve as a customer contact for technical and service-related issues; document activities.

The Opportunity Roche Support Network is dedicated to providing exceptional support to customers. As a Field Engineering Specialist, you will travel and showcase your expertise in technical repair and installation for Roche assigned product lines. You will offer valuable service to laboratory customers in your assigned territory. The role involves routine technical support, on-site service, repair, and installation of Roche products. You will serve as a customer contact for technical and service-related issues and perform preventative maintenance. The position requires diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures. You will document all activities, contribute to quality improvement, and focus on maximizing customer satisfaction.

This field-based role requires up to 20% travel. This person will support Los Angeles, CA (Ideal candidate to live in Los Angeles, CA).

Who You Are
  • High school diploma and 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or work experience are required.
  • 5 years of progressive experience in repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking is necessary.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 1-2 years of progressive experience will suffice.
  • Successful completion of training or certification as defined by RD Services Leadership and policy is mandatory.
  • The ability to travel, including overnight travel, is a requirement for this role.
Preferred Requirements
  • 8+ years of progressive experience or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 4+ years of progressive experience are required.
  • Advanced knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, information technology, and basic chemistry.
  • The ability to serve as an internal technical resource, provide support after hours and on weekends/holidays, and maintain strong customer relationships is essential.

Benefits
  • The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $74,600.00 - $138,600.00 USD Annual USD Annual.
  • Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
  • A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
