Job summary

Roche is seeking a Field Engineering Specialist to travel within the New Jersey region, performing on-site repair, installation, and preventive maintenance for Roche products. The role requires 5 years of relevant repair experience or a Bachelor's in a related field plus 1–2 years, plus willingness to travel including overnight trips.

Qualifications

• 5 years of progressive experience in repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking; or a Bachelor's degree with 1-2 years of progressive experience.
• Training or certification as defined by RD Services Leadership and policy is mandatory.
• Willingness and ability to travel, including overnight travel.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

Roche Support Network is dedicated to providing exceptional support to customers. As a Field Engineering Specialist:

• You will travel and showcase your expertise in technical repair and installation for Roche assigned product lines
• You will offer valuable service to laboratory customers in your assigned territory
• The role involves routine technical support, on-site service, repair, and installation of Roche products
• You will serve as a customer contact for technical and service-related issues and perform preventative maintenance
• The position requires diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hardware, software, and system failures
• You will document all activities, contribute to quality improvement, and focus on maximizing customer satisfaction

This is a field-based role that requires daily travel and up to 20% overnight travel (with potentially more during the training period). Our ideal candidate would reside within 20 miles of Princeton, NJ.

Work Schedule

This individual must be willing to work Monday - Friday with weekend rotation and on-call.

Who You Are

• High school diploma and 2 years of technical school or equivalent military training or work experience are required
• 5 years of progressive experience in repairing or servicing mechanical/system hardware and software, or networking/wireless networking is necessary. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with 1-2 years of progressive experience will suffice
• Successful completion of training or certification as defined by RD Services Leadership and policy is mandatory
• The ability to travel, including overnight travel, is a requirement for this role

Preferred Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience or a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field plus 4+ years of progressive experience are required
• Advanced knowledge of electronics, electro-mechanical systems, information technology, and basic chemistry
• The ability to serve as an internal technical resource, provide support after hours and on weekends/holidays, and maintain strong customer relationships is essential

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of New Jersey is $71,100 - 132,000. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance. This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
