Consolidated Nuclear Security is offering a summer internship in Field Engineering at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, TN. The program runs 10–12 weeks, with tasks supporting construction projects, reviews of drawings, and collaboration with senior engineers.

Interns gain hands-on experience, participate in safety and quality processes, and receive mentorship. Applicants must be pursuing or have completed a Construction Management or Engineering degree and be U.S.

Qualifications

• Be pursuing or have completed a degree in Construction Management or Engineering.
• Engineering students must be enrolled in an ABET-accredited program.
• Graduates within two years of graduation are eligible.
• U.S. citizenship is required for security clearance.
• Summer internship runs May 24, 2027 to July 29, 2027.

Responsibilities

• Support field engineering tasks for construction projects.
• Review drawings and specifications for adequacy.
• Assist in constructability reviews during design and execution.
• Coordinate with Construction Managers and Project Managers.
• Help prepare procedures and technical documents.
• Participate in permitting, lockouts, escort agreements as needed.
• Ensure safety, security, quality, environmental controls, and schedules.
