McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a Geomatics Field Engineer to lead survey activities on assigned projects, including control, topography, staking, and as-built work.
You will calibrate equipment, support machine control, GIS data collection, and drone-based data collection using LiDAR and multispectral sensors. The role requires 2+ years in geodetic surveying with GNSS, FAA Part 107 drone certification is preferred, and proficiency in Civil 3D/Trimble Business Center is a plus.

The Geomatics Field Engineer is responsible for the execution of all field survey related activities on assigned projects including but not limited to establishing and maintaining project control, topographic data collection, construction layout (staking), as-built documentation, equipment calibration, machine control calibrations & tech support, GIS, utility locating, and drone flight planning & operations. In addition to traditional survey means and methods the Geomatics Field Engineer will be responsible for all flight operations and necessary means of aerial data collection. The Geomatics Field Engineer will report to the jobsite for the projects they are assigned and integrate with the operational management of the project with a focus on cost and schedule enhancement, Quality, adherence to design intent and collaboration with the design team. The Geomatics Field Engineer will directly report to and take direction from their respective Geomatics Manager from whom they will receive operational support, direction on means and methods, and learning and career development. The Geomatics Field Engineer is responsible for ensuring the accuracy and quality of surveyed data and laid out or constructed components and instrumental to overall success of the projects they support.
