Job summary

LIXIL Public Partners (LPP) is seeking a hands-on Field Engineer to manage pilot-scale domestic wastewater systems for rural and coastal communities in the Chesapeake Bay region. This part-time contract requires about 24 hours per week, with immediate start and a 1-year term, and will involve monitoring, maintenance, data collection, and stakeholder engagement.

You will travel from your home base to the coastal VA area, work independently in field settings, and ensure safety and regulatory

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in an applicable engineering field (environmental, mechanical or chemical preferred).
• Master’s Degree in an applicable engineering field (environmental, mechanical or chemical preferred).
• Experience with hands-on mechanical equipment and wastewater or water treatment processes.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor pilot-scale wastewater/ water treatment systems in field settings.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and adapt solutions for rural coastal communities.
• Ensure safety guidelines and regulatory compliance during field work.
• Provide site assessments and assist with startup and deployment.
• Collect samples and perform routine wastewater analysis.
