Job summary

Cianbro in Hartford, CT seeks a Project Engineer to support planning, scheduling and field coordination on complex construction projects. You will interpret drawings, manage submittals, change orders, and coordinate with vendors and owners, ensuring safety, quality and on-time delivery.

A 4-year engineering or construction management degree is required, along with travel willingness. Salary ranges from $60,000 to $90,000, with compensation depending on experience and performance.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in engineering or construction management.
• Knowledge of construction aspects: craft agreements, scheduling, safety.
• Strong communication, organizational and supervisory abilities.
• Ability to identify and implement complex technical solutions.
• Proficient with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Assist in project planning, value engineering, and developing master schedule.
• Ensure environmental permits are in place and educate team on compliance.
• Interpret drawings for craft installation and resolve drawing conflicts.
• Provide engineering input to the daily job log.
• Interpret production goals for craft supervisors for daily productivity targets.
• Verify quantity tracking data and measure productivity.
• Track vendors and subcontractors to avoid schedule impacts.
• Maintain the project schedule to support leadership decisions.
• Generate and maintain submittal, RFI logs, and client correspondence.
• Prepare contract compliance, buyout logs, and procurement reports.
• Identify and estimate costs of unanticipated extra work and log change orders.
• Coordinate submittals transmittal and approvals with Owner/Engineer.
