Job summary

FlatironDragados invites qualified students to join our Summer 2027 Internship Program in the Denver area as Field Engineer Interns. You will work with on-site staff, assist the Project Manager and Project Engineer, and apply engineering concepts to real-world construction tasks.

Interns will develop skills in field condition evaluation, plan interpretation, and documentation control while supporting scheduling, design clarifications, and subcontractor coordination.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Engineering, Construction Management, or similar program at an accredited technical college or university.
• Strong ability to interpret drawings and project specifications.
• Willingness to perform field-related tasks at project sites in the Denver area.

Responsibilities

• Assist with evaluating field conditions and acceptance testing.
• Support QA/QC engineering materials testing.
• Apply survey knowledge to assist with project layout and checking against plans.
• Review project drawings and coordinate design changes.
• Provide document control assistance for correspondence and submittals.
• Initiate engineering design clarifications.
• Perform quantity tracking and productivity analysis.
• Assist with updating project schedules and coordinating scheduling decisions.
• Respond to field design clarifications and manage subcontractors' field operations and payments.
• Provide CAD design assistance for temporary structures.
