Job summary

Wayne Brothers, Inc. is seeking a field engineer to provide field surveying and quality control, translating design intent into on-site execution for civil projects.

You will work with civil and VDC managers to transfer data from drawings and models to the field, mentor the civil tech team, and lead crews while ensuring ADA compliance and safety.

This role offers hands-on field work with opportunities for advancement into senior positions or office roles within VDC or Civil groups.

Qualifications

• Experience with ADA compliance review on layouts.
• Strong communication with field and office teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist GPS interfaces on site: rover, data collector, base station, and machine GPS.
• Provide layout, quality control, and data gathering services.
• Communicate with Civil and VDC group supervisors and field engineers.
• Utilize plans to determine project requirements and constraints.
• Be knowledgeable of and review layout for ADA compliance.
• Maintain safety and implement safe work practices on site.

Position Description

To safely and efficiently provide the necessary field surveying and quality control to insure that project design intent and requirements are met, while working with the civil group and VDC group managers to transfer data from drawings and models to the field for construction as well as assisting in the mentorship and growth of the civil tech team

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Assist the project teams with the utilization of all GPS interfaces on site, including the: rover, data collector, base station and machine mounted GPS equipment/machine control
• Provide layout, quality control and data gathering services for the project teams
• Properly communicate with the Civil and VDC group supervisors and field engineers
• Utilize plans to determine project requirements and constraints
• Be knowledgeable of and review layout for ADA compliance
• Perform all assigned roles, responsibilities, and related work processes/tasks in the safest possible manner. Ensure that a safe, accident/incident-free work environment is maintained for all co-workers, customers, clients, suppliers, etc. at all times.

• Reports to the Assistant Superintendent, Superintendent or General Superintendent
