Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking a Field Engineer for the GI Facilities in Fulton, Missouri. You will execute maintenance work orders, perform preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot production equipment while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years in relevant trades and 2+ years of HVAC experience, with the ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders and operate within site procedures. On-call and after-hours support are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 8+ years of experience in carpentry, welding, electrician, plumbing, HVAC, mechanics or fire systems.
• 2+ years of experience with commercial HVAC systems.
• HVAC certification (class III or universal) preferred within 1 year.
• Basic wastewater treatment certification within 3 years if needed.
• Ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Willingness to learn and expand technical knowledge.
• Familiarity with site processes, systems and resources.
• Basic computer skills for maintenance documentation.

Responsibilities

• Maintains systems and process improvements to ensure reliable site equipment.
• Completes work orders for production equipment and preventive maintenance.
• Assists with troubleshooting technical problems and operational issues.
• Reviews SOPs and preventive maintenance procedures for regulatory compliance.
• Monitors multiple maintenance and mechanical systems (hazardous waste, water analysis, refrigerant monitoring).
• Interprets building automation systems from schematics and P&ID drawings.
• Performs work according to CFRs, GXPs, SOPs and corporate policies.
• Responds to site system issues on a 24/7 basis with on-call support.

The Field Engineer, GI Facilities executes assigned work orders for associated equipment in the facilities workflow to maintain BIAH Facilities. Duties & Responsibilities

• Maintains systems and related process improvements to ensure reliable and compliant site equipment. Perform and execute maintenance activities to complete production and facility repairs.
• Completes work orders of production equipment and preventive maintenance.
• Assists with troubleshooting technical problems and operational issues.
• Reviews departmental procedures (SOP's, Preventive Maintenance Procedures etc.) in compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate policy and procedures.
• Monitors multiple maintenance/mechanical systems (hazardous waste, water analysis, refrigerant monitoring, etc.).
• Understands and reviews utility, process system/ equipment, plumbing, ductwork plans, architectural, and HVAC P&ID’s.
• Uses knowledge of schematics to interpret building automated systems.
• Completes all work in accordance with CFRs, GXPs, SOPs, job plans and corporate policies.
• Must be able to respond to and address issues with site systems on a 24/7 basis with on-call procedures and after hours support when needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Eight plus (8+) years of experience (combination of education, training, and experience) in one or more of the following fields: Carpentry, Welding, Electrician, Plumbing, HVAC, Mechanics and/or Fire Systems.
• Two plus (2+) years’ experience with commercial HVAC systems.
• Has or ability to acquire class III or universal(preferred)HVAC certification within one year of employment.
• Has or ability to acquire basic wastewater treatment certification within three years of employment as necessary.
• Ability to communicate effectively with various internal and external stakeholder groups.
• Has well developed problem solving/decision making skills.
• Agile learner with demonstrated ability to seek necessary resources and/or skills to advance technical ability and understanding of technical equipment and systems.
• Has developed knowledge of site processes, systems, and resources.
• Possesses basic computer skills required for business communication and documentation of maintenance activities.
• Must be able to perform work according to national codes, corporate policies, GXP regulations as applicable, site policies and procedures.
