Conception to Reality Inc is seeking a Field Engineer / Construction Manager to join our team in Westminster, Colorado (80031).

About the role:

The Field Engineer / Construction Manager oversees field engineering and construction activities within the approved project scope, schedule, and budget.

What you'll do:
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
    • Oversee the daily work of contractors and vendors.
    • Manage contractors and vendors to execute the approved project scope and schedule.
    • Conduct daily site meetings while on location.
    • Prepare and distribute daily project reports.
    • Monitor project costs and help manage work within the approved budget.
    • Manage permitting and related fees.
    • Request purchase orders and change orders as needed.
    • Track and communicate project changes that may affect scope, schedule, or budget.
    • Create and update MS Project schedules.
    • Create charts and spreadsheets using data and analysis in MS Excel.
    • Coordinate and conduct on-site bid meetings with vendors and contractors.
    • Conduct design reviews and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
    • Manage marked-up "As-Built" documents and drawings.
    • Read, interpret, and mark up manufacturing line drawings.
    • Ensure installation meets customer specifications, project requirements, and applicable standards.
    • Ensure contractors and vendors follow site safety requirements and project rules.
    • Manage the completion of project punch lists.
    • Train or oversee the training of customer production employees at project completion.
  • Support the Project Manager with conceptual work and feasibility activities.
  • Assist with site audits and development of scope-of-work documents based on the project design premise.
  • Resolve field issues and keep project activities moving toward completion.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Our ideal candidate:

Education and experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Technical manufacturing knowledge and practical project management experience preferred.
  • Manufacturing field experience, especially in the food and beverage industry, strongly preferred.
  • Background in a production environment as a Project Engineer, Maintenance Manager, and/or Production Manager preferred.
  • Experience managing contractors, vendors, and construction activities preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
  • Experience using AutoCAD Viewer.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to travel approximately 75% to client sites, depending on project needs.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand or walk for long periods of time (6-8 hours); climb stairs and ladders and navigate all areas of a construction zone and functioning plant environment; operate measuring equipment; work at a computer; talk and hear, and to comply with all safety regulations. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. The work usually is performed in an office environment, occasionally in a manufacturing or construction environment, with frequent (75%) travel to sites required. The manufacturing environment is usually noisy and may be hot, cold, and/or wet. Long and off-shift hours are occasionally required. Safety shoes, safety vests, and safety glasses, as well as ear protection, are required when on-site at client manufacturing or construction locations. Hair nets and beard nets are also required when on-site at client manufacturing locations.
