Job summary

STV, Inc. is looking for a motivated Field Engineer - Aviation to support complex aviation infrastructure projects. This role will be fully onsite, based in Denver, CO among other locations like Los Angeles and San Francisco.

The ideal candidate will work closely with project managers and contractors to ensure the quality and compliance of construction activities. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree and 2-6 years of relevant experience in aviation or construction.

Compensation ranges from $91,976.90 - $105,116.46 with additional benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.

Qualifications

  • 2-6 years of experience in construction, aviation infrastructure, or related engineering projects.
  • Ability to work in active construction and airport operational environments.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.

Job description

Field Engineer - Aviation

STV is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Field Engineer - Aviation to join our national Aviation group. This position will be fully onsite at one of our aviation client sites located in Los Angeles, CA, San Francisco, CA, Phoenix, AZ, or Denver, CO.

This position will support the planning, construction, and delivery of complex aviation infrastructure projects. This role is ideal for candidates who thrive in dynamic airport environments and enjoy collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across design, construction, and operations.

The Field Engineer will work closely with project managers, contractors, airport stakeholders, and design teams to support airside and landside construction activities while ensuring quality, safety, schedule, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support field execution of aviation and airport infrastructure projects including terminals, airfields, utilities, roadways, and support facilities.
  • Coordinate with contractors, inspectors, airport operations personnel, and project teams to facilitate construction activities.
  • Monitor construction progress, quality, and adherence to project plans and specifications.
  • Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, punch lists, and field documentation.
  • Conduct site inspections and document daily construction activities and field observations.
  • Review drawings, schedules, and technical specifications for constructability and compliance.
  • Support project controls including tracking budgets, schedules, quantities, and project milestones.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA requirements, airport standards, environmental regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Assist with coordination of utility relocations, phasing plans, and operational constraints within active airport environments.
  • Promote a strong culture of safety and quality throughout all project phases.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Aviation Management, or related field.
  • 2-6 years of experience in construction, aviation infrastructure, transportation, or related engineering projects.
  • Understanding of construction methods, engineering plans, and field coordination processes.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in active construction and airport operational environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and construction management software platforms.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting aviation, airport, or transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with FAA advisory circulars, airport operations, and aviation design/construction standards.
  • EIT certification or progress toward PE licensure preferred.
  • Experience with Primavera P6, Procore, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar platforms.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred.

Compensation Range: $91,976.90 - $105,116.46
