Turing is seeking a Field Engineer to run evaluations and benchmarks across frontier AI labs, wire up model APIs to datasets, and translate results into client-ready material.
You will join sales calls as the technical voice, ensure data provenance, and own the last-mile delivery of reports and datasets.
Turing’s mission is to accelerate superintelligence to drive real economic progress. Headquartered in San Francisco, Turing works with frontier AI labs to generate high-quality datasets, reinforcement learning environments, and frontier research benchmarks that improve model capabilities in software engineering, enterprise knowledge work, and advanced STEM reasoning. In software engineering, Turing is the largest and longest-running data provider in the category. Turing also works with Fortune 500 enterprises across financial services, life sciences, healthcare, retail, automotive, and CPG to build and deploy end-to-end agentic AI systems inside mission-critical workflows. By operating on both sides, Turing closes the loop between frontier research and enterprise deployment, turning real-world deployment signals into better data, evaluations, and more capable models. Department: Field Engineering
Location: United States. Preference for the San Francisco Bay Area; remote within the US considered.
Turing builds the training and evaluation data the frontier AI labs use, and those labs keep asking us the same thing: run your newest model on our data and tell us what it means. In one week in late September that meant running Grok 4.7 for xAI across a set of our datasets and writing a package against Thinking Machines’ model. The Field Engineer is the person who does that work and takes it to the lab. If we hand you five models and one of our datasets, you can benchmark them and write the report a client lab would read.
This is not a research role and not a forward-deployed role. You will run evals, move data through our internal systems, turn results into client material, and join sales calls as the technical person.
A 30-minute recruiter screen, a conversation with the hiring manager or a teammate, a take-home project modelled on the work itself, and a final conversation where you present that project.
