Qualifications

  • Internships or co-ops in heavy civil or marine construction may count toward experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support planning, field coordination, scheduling, procurement, documentation, quality, and project controls.
  • Collaborate with project teams to execute multiple scopes across the project lifecycle.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Use project management software to track progress and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

MULTI YEAR PROJECT ASSIGNMENT – NORTH/CENTRAL WASHINGTON

This is a project-based position supporting a multi-year hydroelectric dam rehabilitation project in North/Central Washington. The project is located in a remote, rural area near Sedro-Woolley, WA and requires the Field Engineer(s) to relocate to or reside near the project site. Relocation assistance will be provided for the right candidate.

Job Summary:

The Field Engineer will work closely with project managers, superintendents, engineers, and field crews to support planning, field coordination, scheduling, procurement, documentation, quality, and project controls. The project includes temporary structures construction, concrete demolition and reconstruction, mechanical and electrical systems installation, rock anchoring, remote-access work, and marine construction operations. This role provides significant field exposure and the opportunity to support multiple scopes throughout the project lifecycle.

Candidates should be prepared to work at or near the project site for the duration of the assignment. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction engineering, civil engineering or a related field required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience:
  • 1+ years of experience supporting heavy civil, marine, or industrial projects in a Field Engineer or similar field operations role.
  • Experience supporting field operations, project planning, estimating, scheduling, document control, procurement, or project coordination.
  • Heavy civil, marine, highway, dam, infrastructure, concrete, or self-perform construction experience preferred.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, vendors, and field crews in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Previous internship or co-op experience in heavy civil or marine construction may be considered in lieu of professional experience.
Skills:
  • Proficiency with construction and project management software, including Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, AutoCAD, HeavyBid, HeavyJob, Microsoft Project, or Primavera P6.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply construction drawings, specifications, contract documents, and technical information.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate options and develop practical solutions.
  • Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, tools, equipment, and project sequencing.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate and build relationships with project teams, field crews, subcontractors, vendors, clients, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
Physical Demands / Working Environment:
  • Work is performed in both office and field environments, including active construction sites and outdoor settings in varying weather conditions.
  • Travel to project sites, meetings, training events, and company locations is required and may include travel by land, water, or air.
  • Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including but not limited to hard hats, safety glasses, respirators, and fall protection equipment, as needed.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, squat, and navigate uneven terrain for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to remain stationery and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to relocate as required to support business and project needs.
