Job summary

CAE USA Inc. seeks an experienced field service technician to support F-16 Flight Trainer systems at Isa Air Base, Bahrain.

The role involves maintaining complex simulators, performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and supporting overseas operations for DoD contracts. You will troubleshoot, calibrate, install, and repair equipment, while working with Bahraini operators and ensuring readiness and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in electronics or two-year electronic technician training and related maintenance experience.
• At least 5 years’ electronic maintenance experience on simulation/electronic systems.
• DoD security clearances required; US citizenship needed.

Responsibilities

• Calibrate, install, maintain and repair flight simulators and related equipment.
• Troubleshoot and document malfunctions and repairs.
• Manage readiness checks and preventive maintenance for simulators.
• Assist with installation and checkout of equipment modifications.
• Provide on-the-job training to Bahraini personnel onsite.

Summary

Perform a variety of duties on integrated multi-computer systems, video generation and display systems, complex digital interfaces, high density cable/plug repair, software maintenance, and comprehensive troubleshooting and repair of general training device peripheral systems, in support of a F-16 Blk 40 Flight Simulator System located at Isa Air Base, Bahrain. Including, but not limited to, performing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, as well as managing spares and tracking inventory and providing all necessary On the Job Training (OJT) to the Bahraini personnel onsite, such as operators and maintainers. This is an overseas Field Service position and may require travel to other overseas locations. Position does not require a Security Clearance or the ability to acquire and maintain one.

• Perform a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, or optical areas in support of a F16 Flight Trainer located at Isa Air Base, Bahrain.
• May be asked to occasionally support F16 devices located at other locations throughout the world.
• Calibrate, install, maintain, repair, and test flight simulators, and other support equipment.
• Install changes and updates to simulators and support equipment as required.
• Perform required readiness checks on flight simulation equipment and instruments.
• Conduct and document preventative maintenance checks required for simulator and support equipment.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and document malfunctions of simulators and support equipment.
• Remove and replace faulty equipment and complete maintenance data collection records.
• Assist with installation and check-out of simulator and support equipment modifications.
• Assist with general field site facility activities as required.
• Work from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
• Apply comprehensive knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.
• Process items to be delivered for repair and/or returned to Isa Air Base, via the assigned shipping processor.
• Prepare shipping crates, assist with preparation of related shipping documents, and verify items that have been delivered to the assigned shipping processor.
• Perform other related duties as required by a Site Manager or Program Management.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in the electronics field or a two-year electronic technician resident course at an accredited technical institute and/or military technical training and equivalent electronics maintenance experience on equipment of similar complexity. Must have at least 5 years' electronic maintenance experience and have demonstrated competence by satisfactory progressive performance in electronic maintenance on simulation systems of comparable complexity to those supported on this program. Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Preferred Skills

Experience in integrated multi-computer systems, video generation and display systems, complex digital interfaces, high density cable/plug repair, software maintenance, and comprehensive troubleshooting and repair of general training device peripheral systems. CompTIA certification in one or both of the following: Security+ and/or Network+

Security Responsibilities

Work Environment

Duties performed in an office environment and manufacturing facility. Must be able to work overtime on and off-shifts as required. The employee is on call 24x7 for the resolution of problems and issues.
