Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Record date/time, engine diagnostics, and relevant environmental data.
  • Calibrate instruments and maintain calibration records.
  • Prepare daily field journals and report findings to Area Lead.
  • Provide feedback for process improvement and assist other business units as needed.

Overview

To conduct emissions performance testing and mechanical integrity evaluations on rotating equipment (reciprocating internal combustion engines – RICE) located at oil and gas production sites to ensure compliance with air quality permit requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Utilize, operate, and maintain a single and/or dual tower emissions trailer.
  • Mobilize and operate manlifts and other equipment as needed.
  • Conduct emissions performance evaluations on RICE engines utilizing methods sanctioned by the US EPA – located at remote oil and gas sites/facilities within the continental United States.
  • Record measurements of criteria pollutants – including but not limited to volatile organic compounds (VOCs), carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx) in parts per million (ppm), and oxygen (O2) in percent (%; as per EPA Method 19 -alt) from internal combustion equipment (i.e. RICE engines).
  • Liaison with corporate and field-level maintenance and environmental representatives to coordinate testing project schedules and logistics.
  • Record date/time, RICE panel operating parameters and engine diagnostics, and pertinent environmental data relevant to each emissions testing project/evaluation.
  • Calibrate instruments prior to each testing event and record calibration details and instrument checks.
  • Compile a daily field journal detailing general observations (for process improvement).
  • Report findings (daily) to the Area Lead.
  • Provide operational feedback for continued process improvement.
  • Generate daily test schedules for clients and compressor vendors.
  • Assist other business units when needed and provide appropriate feedback when necessary (LDAR/ CEMS).
  • Respond to any emails, phones calls or text messages in a timely and professional manner.
Requirements
  • Must have a high school diploma, general education development (GED), or equivalent (military service and/or technical degrees preferred).
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • 2-4 years field experience regarding technical, industrial, and/or oil and gas services (preferred).
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Willing to travel to remote oil and gas locations throughout the geographic project area.
  • Must be able to work alone.
  • Must be task-oriented with the ability to maintain tight schedules.
  • Able to work in “Safety Sensitive” locations at heights / confined spaces and in varying weather conditions.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and clean driving record.
  • Able to obtain a DOT Medical card and drive a commercial vehicle (non-cdl) & trailer.
  • Able to work in a shop and field as required.
