Job summary

Lynker Corporation is seeking an Electronics Technician to support NOAA CO-OPS, focusing on pre-deployment testing, installation, maintenance, and repair of oceanographic and meteorological sensing systems. Travel is limited but required along the East and Gulf Coasts, and the Great Lakes region.

The role entails calibrating sensors, updating firmware/software, and developing maintenance plans for new sensor tech, with field and lab testing and documentation responsibilities.

Qualifications

• B.S. (in Electronic Engineering, Oceanography, Physical Science or related field (or equivalent experience)).
• One year of experience at the Electronics Technician III level in environmental monitoring technology.
• Knowledge of Data Collection Platforms (DCP) in remote environmental monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

• Calibrating sensors measuring water level, wind, temp and pressure for proper field operation.
• Conduct firmware and software updates to keep systems performing optimally.
• Perform component and system upgrades per manufacturer specifications.
• Assist with assembly, lab and field testing of new measurement systems and data acquisition setup.
