Job summary

Explorer Pipeline seeks an experienced technician to work from the Hammond field office, maintaining, repairing, testing, adjusting, and assisting in installation and removal of electrical, mechanical, communication, control, and measurement equipment at assigned locations.

The role requires adherence to DOT and OSHA safety rules, the ability to work on weekends as part of on-call rotations, and the capacity to operate, troubleshoot, and service a wide range of equipment while maintaining

Qualifications

• An Associate’s degree in electronics/electrical, instrumentation or a related technical field or its equivalent in experience is required.
• Experience as an operations/maintenance technician, or previous experience in electronics and mechanics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complies with DOT and OSHA health, safety and environmental requirements and follows safety philosophy and procedures developed by the Company.
• Tests and inspects assigned equipment by monitoring performance and operating specialized mechanical and electronic testing equipment.
• Maintains assigned mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment by making adjustments and repairs as needed.
• Compiles records and analyzes operating data on equipment.
• Maintains equipment spare parts inventory and operates and maintains technicians’ tools equipment, and assigned vehicle.
• Recommends equipment design changes, gives technical guidance, and suggests procedures for proper and efficient use of equipment.
• Contacts and confers with factory technical representatives.
• Installs non-contract equipment additions and modifications.
• Works with third party contractor on R/W encroachments.
• Acts as company inspector on construction and maintenance project performed by outside contractors.
• Assists with on-the-job training of new technicians.
• Performs all other duties and projects as assigned by supervisor.
• Performs maintenance associated with upkeep, cleanliness, and appearance of pipeline right-of-way, terminal, and station facilities.
