Job summary

Eversource Energy in Manchester, NH, seeks a Regular full-time role focused on assisting with installation, testing, inspection and maintenance of electrical equipment in Transmission and Distribution substations and lines.

Applicants must have an associate degree in industrial electricity or complete an approved apprenticeship, with the ability to read drawings, operate testing tools, and work in elevated or confined spaces. Union membership is required for this posting.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in industrial electricity and/or completion of an apprentice program.
• Ability to interpret electrical drawings and operate testing equipment.
• Ability to climb and work on ladders and elevated structures, and work in confined spaces.

Responsibilities

• Assist with installation, testing, inspection, repair, and maintenance of electrical equipment in substations and lines.
• Perform routine switching, grounding, and tagging under supervision to support maintenance and restoration.
• Inspect equipment in substations and record data in Cascade database.
• Assist with battery installations and maintenance of underground network equipment.
• Support with installations and repairs of controls for reclosers and regulators.
• Participate in snow removal, general maintenance, and site landscaping as needed.

Job description

Assists with installation, testing, inspection, repairs of electrical equipment and associated facilities within Transmission and Distribution substations and associated lines.

Salary

Starting Rate of Pay:$41.52per hour

Regular Duties

• Assistswith installation, testing, inspection,repairingand maintenance of electrical equipment such as oil switches, circuit breakers and associated switchgear, transformers, reclosers, motors, control cables,regulatorsandLoadbustertools.
• Assistswith repairs, adjustments,maintenance,and installation of all types of line switches and motor operators.
• Performs less complicated switching,grounding,and tagging for which qualified at Transmission and Distribution substations and associated lines tofacilitatemaintenance,operation,and restoration of service.
• Performs inspection of all equipment in Transmission and Distribution substations, recordsappropriate datain Cascade computer database.
• Assistswith inspection, cleaning and maintenance of substation, motor operatorbatteriesand other battery installations within the Division.
• Assistswith maintenance of equipment in underground networksystem.
• Assistswith installations and repairs of electronic controls for reclosers, regulators and capacitor switches.
• Inspects various substations to ensure that the stationis,in compliance with current Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) plans.
• Assists System Electricians.
• Performs snow removal and other general maintenance, including landscaping around stations and substations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Associate Degree in Industrial Electricity and/or the successful completion of a recognized apprentice program, or equivalent in combined education and work experience.

Other requirements include the ability to perform math functions,operatetesting equipment and hand and power tools, interpret electrical drawings, work from elevated positions and within confined spaces, follow instructions and work under limited supervision.

Individualwillbe requiredto successfully complete the EEI CAST aptitude test.

Required Skills

Preferred Skills

Proficiencyin the Microsoft Office Suite of programs.
