Job summary

Advanced Electric Systems (AES) is seeking Electrical Testing & Commissioning Technicians (Mid-Level through Senior) to support client projects nationwide. Based out of Salt Lake City, you’ll join a team linked to Quanta Services, gaining stability and resources while operating on high-voltage substations.

Responsibilities include field testing, startup, and commissioning of electrical equipment, interpreting schematics, and leading crews on outage-based projects. Travel is required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years electrical testing or commissioning experience.
• Class A CDL or willing to obtain one.
• Experience with substation equipment testing.
• Familiarity with protective relay testing.
• Experience with Doble, Omicron, Manta, Vanguard, or similar.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
• Willingness to travel for project assignments.

Responsibilities

• Perform field testing, troubleshooting, startup, and commissioning of electrical equipment.
• Interpret electrical one-lines, schematics, protection logic, and relay settings.
• Execute relay testing and protection scheme verification during outage-based commissioning projects.
• Lead or support field crews during testing, commissioning, and energization activities.
• Provide technical leadership on startup and capital upgrade projects when applicable.
• Document and report test results per project specifications.
• Coordinate with utility clients, EPCs, and project management teams.
