Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Field Electrical Engineer to provide infrastructure engineering support to construction/installation crews on the FAA T5 program. The role involves field planning, design validation, site surveys, and coordination across disciplines. Occasional night surveys and nationwide travel are required, with remote work when not traveling.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, 4+ years in related fields, and ability to read electrical drawings. U.S.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 4+ years of relevant engineering experience in grounding and lightning protection design, electrical engineering, electrical construction, electrical inspection, field engineering, mission‑critical facilities engineering, or infrastructure projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one‑line diagrams, wiring diagrams, specifications, equipment schedules, and technical documents.
  • Ability and willingness to conduct site surveys during nighttime hours or as required by project needs.
  • Ability to travel nationwide and work on active construction sites in varying field conditions.
  • Working knowledge of NEC, NFPA standards, IEEE standards, and federal or project‑specific requirements.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and pass required background checks.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and valid driver’s license.
  • OSHA 30‑hour safety training.

Job Description:

T5 Program Summary: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded the Technical Support Services Contract 5 (T5) to Parsons in April 2023. Parsons is the prime contractor. This $1.8+ billion contract has a 4-year base period with two 3-year options. The statement of work includes a variety of activities that support the FAA’s Capital Investment Plan (CIP) and certain reimbursable programs, the FAA NextGen Program, national security programs, and aviation safety. Specifically, work includes site selection and engineering, construction, environmental and fire/life safety, equipment installation and testing, drafting, contract surveillance, and other technical services as required. Work is performed across the nation in each of the FAA’s nine regions as well as the Aeronautical Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and the Technical Center in Atlantic City, New Jersey and in several U.S. territories. An average staff of 500 with a peak staff over 650 supports this contract, in addition to those subcontractors who perform construction work.

Parsons is looking for a talented Field Electrical Engineer to join our team! In this role you will provide infrastructure engineering support to construction/installation crews.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and valid driver’s license

Preferred Skills
  • Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT/FE) certification

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

  • Experience supporting construction activities, field investigations, and resolution of field issues

  • Experience interfacing directly with client and other stakeholders

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic electronic documentation tools

  • OSHA 30‑hour safety training

  • Prior experience on federal, transportation, aviation, or large infrastructure projects

  • Experience with Bluebeam markup software

  • Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in remote and field environments

  • Experience in requirements development and specification writing

Salary Range: $63,600.00 - $111,300.00
