Job summary

Arcosa is seeking an EHS Manager in Southern California to lead environmental, health and safety training, auditing, incident response, and regulatory adherence across multiple facilities. The role requires organizing cross-location training, managing permit records, and ensuring compliance with CALOSHA, OSHA, and CA environmental agencies.

Local travel is extensive within Southern California with some travel to Colorado; strong communication skills and a 5+ year EHS background are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an EHS-based position (aggregate industry preferred).
• Excellent communication skills both verbally and written (Required).
• Regulatory experience with CALOSHA Title 8 (Preferred).
• Regulatory experience with OSHA 1910 and 1926 (Preferred).
• Regulatory experience with CA Waterboard, CARB, and other CA environmental agencies (Preferred).
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding air quality, wastewater, stormwater, and waste management (Preferred).
• Working experience with industrial stormwater sampling methods and conducting visible emissions observations (EPA Method 9 and 22) (Preferred).
• Strong knowledge and experience of training methods, procedures, and techniques (Preferred).
• Strong computer skills including data management and presentation and experience in MS Office Suite (Required).
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and perform multiple tasks concurrently (Required).

Responsibilities

• Schedule and implement the organization's EHS training program.
• Includes new hire orientation, job-specific training, and ongoing training to ensure policy compliance.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with environmental, health and safety laws.
• Respond to, investigate, and document all EHS incidents.
• Collect, analyze, and document environmental samples for regulatory compliance.
• Maintain permit recordkeeping and regulatory reporting documentation.
• Keep detailed records for permit requirements.
• Build relationships to support EHS initiatives.
• Local travel 75% within Southern California; travel 10% to Colorado operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
