Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years of electric distribution design experience.
• Proficiency with DDS (Distribution Design Studio).
• Familiarity with CenterPoint Energy design/construction standards.
• Strong understanding of NESC requirements.
• Ability to read as-built drawings and GIS data.
• Valid Texas driver’s license and willingness to perform field work.

Responsibilities

• Perform field design and data collection for overhead distribution projects.
• Use DDS to create and update detailed design models.
• Conduct pole audits and field verification using IKE tools.
• Identify underground utilities via locators and GIS data.
• Prepare construction-ready design packages and materials lists.
• Support QA reviews and resolve field/design discrepancies.
• Maintain field logs and report updates in project systems.
