Job summary

Hinton Transportation Investments (HTI) is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician to perform on-site diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of diesel trucks at customer locations. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving, and safety-conscious customer service while representing HTI in the field.

The technician will handle diesel engines, brakes, electrical systems, HVAC, and suspension, with additional responsibilities in trailer repair and preventive inspections.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training a plus.
• 2+ years of diesel repair experience; mobile experience preferred.
• Trailer repair experience a plus; CDL preferred.
• EPA 609 certification required for HVAC work.
• DOT inspection certification or ability to obtain.
• Welding/fabrication experience a plus.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel trucks and equipment in a mobile environment.
• Support trailer repair and maintenance, including structural work and basic welding as needed.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and DOT inspections; ensure safety and standards.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines, brakes, electrical systems, HVAC and suspensions.
• Document work performed, parts used, and labor hours; communicate with customers.
