Job summary

United Rentals, the world’s largest equipment rental provider, seeks a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service) to perform maintenance and repairs on complex equipment. You’ll diagnose, repair, and service equipment at customer sites, earning opportunities to advance within the Service Department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; maintain service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training of lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic work orders daily.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties as needed.
