Job summary

United Rentals, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician to repair and maintain a broad range of rental equipment across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems. Expect travel to customer sites and keeping a clean service vehicle.

The role also involves assisting in training junior technicians, daily work order documentation, and helping with equipment and parts pickup/delivery. A high school diploma, valid license, and 3–5 years of hands-on experience are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• 3-5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Strong mechanical background knowledge of engines.

Responsibilities

• Safe maintenance and repair of complex rental equipment (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems).
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) daily.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.
