Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions to perform maintenance and repairs on complex customer-owned equipment with limited supervision. This role supports safety, quality, and exceptional customer service while contributing to the Service Department’s success.

Based in Burnsville, MN, you will travel to job sites, maintain a clean service vehicle, and demonstrate a broad range of mechanical and technical skills.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and strong mechanical background knowledge of various engines.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Safely maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on customer equipment and tools with a high degree of independent judgment.
• Maintain paperwork and work orders accurately in a timely manner.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment for customers.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties as assigned.
