As a Field Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech III - Field Service - CES), you'll perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment on customer-owned equipment with limited or no supervision in a highly skilled, safe, and professional manner. Every day, you can improve and challenge yourself, with opportunities for advancement into higher Service Technician and leadership roles. You will also provide exceptional customer service.

What You'll Do

• Perform safe maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on customer equipment and tools, using a high degree of independent judgment.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) accurately and promptly.
• Upsell and demonstrate a wide array of complex equipment to customers.
• Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance; maintain a clean and professional service vehicle.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• 3-5 years of experience in repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Advanced mechanical skills and knowledge of tools.
• Knowledge of construction equipment and engines.
• Own tools applicable to the position.
• Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs frequently.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive per United Rentals' policies.
