As a Field Diesel Mechanic – Customer Equipment Solutions (Service Tech IV - Field Service - CES), you'll perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment on customer-owned equipment with limited supervision. You'll work in a highly skilled, safe, and professional environment. Every day offers opportunities for growth and leadership in our Service Department. Providing exceptional customer service is a key part of your role.

What You'll Do
  • Maintain and repair complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment using independent judgment.
  • Travel to customer sites for repair/maintenance of customer-owned equipment; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
  • Assist in training lower-level technicians as needed.
  • Maintain documentation of work performed (work orders) promptly and accurately.
  • Upsell and demonstrate complex equipment to customers.
  • Assist with equipment and parts pickup and delivery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tools.
  • Knowledge of construction equipment and engines.
  • Understanding of schematics and diagrams.
  • Own tools applicable to the position.
  • Excellent customer service, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Ability to lift items up to 45 lbs frequently.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive per United Rentals policies.
