Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Field Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech III - Field Service) in Hobbs, NM to perform maintenance and repairs on complex rental equipment. You will travel to customer sites and work in a safe, professional manner while developing your skills within a large equipment rental organization.

The role emphasizes high-quality customer service, safety, and opportunity for advancement within the Service Department, including potential leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Experience with maintenance and repair of diesel equipment.
• Ability to travel to customer sites for service.
• Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic repair skills.
• Comfort with preventive maintenance routines.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair on complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) daily.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

What You'll Do

• Safe maintenance and repair of a variety of complex rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
• Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
• Other duties assigned as needed

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.
