Job summary

County of Lancaster is seeking a Deputy Sheriff to join the Lancaster County Sheriff's Office. The role requires physical stamina, outdoor work in all weather, and the ability to perform essential law enforcement duties daily.

What you will do includes responding to emergencies, making arrests, testifying in court, and enforcing state laws. Training is provided, and opportunities for advancement exist within a large county law enforcement network.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old upon academy graduation.
• Must be a United States citizen.
• Must possess a valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• Must be able to complete a pre-employment physical fitness test.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively and professionally with the public and other agencies.
• Render first aid and CPR when needed.
• Enforce the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code and issue traffic citations when certified.
• Respond to emergencies and maintain public safety.
• Transport prisoners and assist in investigations as required.
