Job summary

A national engineering firm is seeking Mechanical Engineers to support FEMA disaster recovery efforts across the United States. This role requires engineers to deploy to disaster sites, conduct facility assessments, and develop cost estimates. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, and be able to work independently under stressful conditions. This is a full-time position with extensive travel requirements, and remote work is not permitted.

Qualifications

• 5 years of professional experience in public infrastructure.
• Experience in facility assessments and developing project scope.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Deploy to disaster sites to support FEMA recovery programs.
• Perform field inspections of damaged facilities and document damage.
• Assist with hazard mitigation planning and cost estimates.

Skills

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Knowledge of modern construction practices

Ability to work both independently and in a team

Education
